If you know Samantha B., you know how she has....issues....with PINK. Sam goes to great lengths to avoid pink. In fact, she won't even eat pink food. We really don't know what happened in her formative years to cause this, and we hope that we can provide a cathartic experience for her. After much discussion about this topic Sam has greatly offered to appear IN PUBLIC in a pink t-shirt if every member of her SockDay Club will knit a sock to donate to CIC. (I just cast on for mine; what color do you think it is?)
I would like to challenge more knitters to contribute a pair of socks to this "Put-Sam-in-Pink" CIC challenge.* The more socks, the more times we get her to wear the shirt in public. Maybe we can even get her to make it a Sock Club ritual. Maybe Sam can finally make friends with PINK.
How many socks will it take? Will you join me?

What's the due date for said socks? I'd love to participate, but I need to have a due date!
May 19 Sock Club!
Has Sam seen the picture of her? I love it. I am casting mine on when I finish with your sockday socks.
Oh, that is awesome! The picture is great! As soon as I finish Aaron's socks (maybe today?), I'll cast on my pink CIC socks. :)
Ya'll better be glad that this is for a good cause. I say go for it!
Sam
Whew! Now at least I know Sam is still talking to me. ;-)
I don't think I have any pink wool! Pink isn't a requirement for the socks, is it? I suppose I could try and dig something up that's pink!
Pink is not required, although it is amusing. Doesn't it just do your heart good to think of a whole orphanage of children walking around in pink socks thanks to Sam?
I'll dig out some of my leftover pink. Who wouldn't love pink socks?
SAM!
I'm in! I'll start a new charity sock as soon as I finish the hot pink fingerless mitts.
Hey. . . since I am donating two things, does that mean Sam has to wear a pastel pink shirt? She hates pastels and pink, so surely a pastel pink is doubly bad.
What is the SockDay Club? CIC = Children in Common? I would love to have some more information and join in this effort.
Sam-you are not the only one who has problems with pink! I truly can not remember the last time I wore something pink. My mother got me a pink sweater for christmas 2006. It still has the tags on it and will soon be going to goodwill. You are brave!
Thanks,
Kerry
Kerry, the SockDay Club is a group of people who started knitting socks for each other about a year ago after my bright idea that it would be good to have a "SockDay" kind of like having a birthday. So the 8 of us all knit a sock for one person at a time then have a "SockDay" where we go out to eat and bestow socks on that person. It will take about 2 years to work through each person's special day. We started with the oldest person first so that means Amanda has to wait the longest.
Sam can't come to Sock Club on May 19th so I hope she can plan to come to the June Sock Club in her spiffy pink T-shirt.
